Description
Ingredients:
- Ground coffee (depending on how strong you like your coffee)
- Water (filtered, if possible)
Instructions:
- Boil the Water: Heat the water to just below boiling point, around 200°F (93°C). If you don’t have a thermometer, bring the water to a boil and let it sit for about 30 seconds before brewing.
- Prepare the Coffee: Use freshly ground coffee beans for the best flavor. Measure out 1 to 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 to 8 ounces of water, depending on how strong you prefer your coffee.
- Brew: There are several methods to brew black coffee:
- Drip Coffee Maker: Add the ground coffee to the filter and pour in the hot water.
- French Press: Add the coffee grounds to the French press, pour in the hot water, stir, and steep for about 4 minutes before pressing the plunger down.
- Pour-Over: Place a filter in the pour-over cone, add the ground coffee, and slowly pour hot water over the coffee in a circular motion, allowing it to drip through.
- Espresso Machine: Brew the coffee according to your machine’s instructions for a more concentrated shot of black coffee.
- Serve: Once brewed, serve immediately in your favorite mug. Black coffee is typically consumed without additives, but you can adjust strength and flavor to suit your taste.
